Design concept
- The logo is based on an ancient Chinese sign of "auspicious cloud" and symbolizes various atmospheric and oceanic phenomena: the vertically symmetric swirls for atmospheric phenomena in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres such as typhoons, cyclones and anticyclones, and the horizontally symmetric waves for ocean waves or seismic waves. The auspicious cloud itself, like the atmosphere, is in constant motion and always changing, and as such is both dynamic and familiar.
- To analyze the shape of the waves in further detail: the center looks like a wound-up spring, with boundless potential; the pointed tips allude to creating and spearheading new trends; while the back is the source of development that drives the push forward to new horizons.
- In its entirety, the shape denotes the interface and interaction between gas and liquid in a close-knit relation. The logo as a whole symbolizes human wisdom and potential, and the mental and physical interactions between individuals and between nations.
