The Central Weather Administration, MOTC, is composed of Planning Division, Observation Division, Numerical Information Division, Marine Meteorology & Climate Division, Technology Development Division, Remote Sensing Division, Southern Region Weather Center, Weather Forecast Center, Seismological Center, as well as weather stations and radar stations all over the country, which are responsible for meteorological, seismological, and weather-related marine and astronomical operations, while administrative matters are handled by Secretariat, Budget, Accounting & Statistics Office, Personnel Office, and Civil Service Ethics Office.

To best fulfill the role weather information plays in disaster prevention and relief, this Division has developed a system that integrates satellite, radar and precipitation data and geographical information, providing real-time observation data for disaster prevention and relief agencies. Established to provide various weather services for the southern region. Main tasks include: - Weather Forecast Center
- Weather watch: Round-the-clock monitoring of all kinds of weather phenomena, such as cold surge, Mei-yu front, typhoon, change in small-scale and mesoscale convections, etc.
- Short- and medium-range weather forecast: Weather forecast products released daily at set times, including short-range forecasts of 12 to 36 hours, medium-range daily forecasts for the next 7 days, pelagic and offshore fishery weather forecasts, etc.
- Disastrous weather advisory and instant message: Warning for invading typhoon, advisory and/or instant message when disastrous weather has happened or is about to happen, etc.
- Typhoon warning: Close monitoring of typhoon and timely issuance of typhoon warning, so that competent authorities and general public can take necessary precaution
- Weather services: Establishment and maintenance of channels for disseminating weather forecast information such as automatic weather hotlines 166 and 167, weather consultation line, fax on demand, international radiofax broadcast, peer-to-peer disaster prevention service system, etc.
In charge of weather monitoring, analysis, forecast and advisory/warning issuance in Taiwan. Main tasks include: - Seismological Center

Established to strengthen the monitoring and reporting operations for seismic activities in Taiwan so as to minimize the damage caused. Main tasks include:
